IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023-028 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />ACCEPT AND EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE GRANT FUNDS AWARDED BY THE <br />CALIFORNIA HUMANITIES' LIBRARY INNOVATION LAB GRANT TO FUND THE SAN LEANDRO PUBLIC <br />LIBRARY'S EFFORTS TO RESEARCH AND IMPLEMENT PUBLIC HUMANITIES PROGRAMMING FOR <br />IMMIGRANT YOUTH POPULATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,500 <br />WHEREAS, California Humanities is an independent nonprofit that supports local public libraries <br />and statewide humanities programs and services; and <br />WHEREAS California Humanities offers an annual competitive Library Innovation Lab (LIL) grant <br />program that enables libraries to research, design, implement, and assess public humanities <br />programming that engages immigrant communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Public Library has historically been awarded funds by California <br />Humanities for projects benefitting the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Public Library was awarded a Library Innovation Lab grant of $5,500 <br />to research, design, implement, and assess public humanities programs that engage immigrant youth <br />in our community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council does RESOLVE as follows: <br />1. That the City Council accepts, and the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents related <br />to the LIL award for research, design, implementation, and assessment of public humanities <br />programs that engage immigrant youth in our community totaling $5,500.00; and <br />2. That an appropriation of the LIL funding of $5,500 in revenue account #150-3617 and expenditure <br />account #150-68-007 is approved; and <br />3. That an original executed agreement shall be attached to and made a part of this resolution. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Aguilar and passed and adopted this 201h day of March 2023, by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Bowen, Reynes, Simon, and <br />Mayor Gonzalez (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: N n n I (0) <br />ATTEST: W VINE <br />Kelly B.
