The proposed part-time Information Systems Support Technician will assist with meeting the technology needs of the City Council, boards, and commissions during official meetings. The classification will also be able to provide critical Helpdesk support to City staff. The position is currently vacant. The proposed Public Information Officer position will support the City’s public outreach, communications, and information programs. The position will foster transparency by coordinating internal and external communications, serve as liaison to other public agencies, professional organizations, community and industry groups, residents, and the media. The position will also be instrumental in developing content for multiple social media platforms. The position is currently filled by an incumbent and the upgrade is supported by the recent classification study completed by Koff & Associates. Fiscal Impacts The cost to upgrade the 1.0 FTE Assistant Information Technology Manager to Information Technology Manager is approximately $47,641 annually. The cost to upgrade the 0.5 FTE Audio-Visual Services Operator to 0.5 FTE Information Systems Support Technician is $37,237 annually. There is sufficient funding available in the Information Technology budget for FY 2022-2023 to fully cover the additional cost. The cost to upgrade the 1.0 FTE Management Analyst I to Public Information Officer is approximately $21,268 annually. There is sufficient funding available in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget (010-14-015-4102) to fully cover the costs. Costs for future fiscal years will require Council appropriation and will be brought forward as part of actions to be undertaken through the subsequent biennial budget process to the corresponding salary allocations.
