IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER’S ACCEPTANCE OF $500,091 FROM <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY FOR HOMELESS HOUSING, ASSISTANCE, AND PREVENTION PROGRAM <br />(HHAP) AND CORRESPONDING APPROPRIATIONS TO OPERATE SUBSIDIES IN NEW OR <br />EXISTING AFFORDABLE OR SUPPORTIVE HOUSING UNITS, EMERGENCY SHELTERS, NON- <br />CONGREGATE SHELTERS, INTERIM OR BRIDGE HOUSING, AND NAVIGATION CENTERS <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 2022 Alameda County Homeless Point in Time (PIT) count captured San <br />Leandro’s total homeless population at 409 individuals, of which 97 are sheltered,119 are living <br />in a tent, 86 are in a car/van, 78 are in recreational vehicles, and 29 living on the streets or <br />outside; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, access to affordable or supportive housing, emergency shelters, non- <br />congregate shelters, interim or bridge housing, navigation center, and access to support <br />services has proven to be an effective strategy of homeless prevention and intervention efforts; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, HHAP funds will be leveraged with local non-profit organizations to sustain, <br />expand and strengthen existing homeless and housing services. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />1. The City Council authorizes the City Manager’s acceptance of County HHAP funds in <br />the amount of $500,091 for fiscal year 2022-2023. <br /> <br />2. The City Council authorizes programming for said $500,091 of HHAP revenue into <br />account 11-63-006, along with a corresponding appropriation of $500,091 into <br />expenditure account 010-61-014-5120 in fiscal year 2022-2023 <br />3. <br /> <br />Introduced by _______ and passed and adopted this 1st day of May 2023, by the following <br />vote: <br /> <br />Members of the Council: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Kelly B.
