40 <br /> <br />f) Covered by particular provisions of law prescribing the manner of its passage <br />and adoption. (SLMC Section 1-1-345) <br /> <br />ORDINANCES – PUBLICATION AND POSTING <br />The title of each ordinance passed to print after the first reading shall be published <br />once in a local newspaper and the City Clerk shall post a complete copy thereof on <br />the City Council Chamber bulletin board for five (5) days before adoption. (SLMC, <br />Section 1-1-325) <br /> <br />ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS – AUTHENTICATION <br />The City Clerk shall authenticate by signature all ordinances and resolutions adopted <br />by the Council. (SLMC, Section 1-1-320) <br /> <br />ORDINANCES – MAINTENANCE OF <br />A true and correct copy of all ordinances shall be kept and certified by the City Clerk, <br />such record copy, with such certificate, or the original ordinance, shall be prima facie <br />evidence of the contents of the ordinance and the due passage and publication of <br />the same, and shall be admissible as such in any court or proceeding. Such records <br />shall not be filed in any case, but shall be returned to the custody of the City Clerk. <br />Nothing herein contained shall be construed to prevent the proof of the passage and <br />publication of an ordinance in the usual way. <br /> <br />COMPREHENSIVE CODES <br />The Council may adopt any comprehensive code of technical regulations by <br />reference to an adopting ordinance. Any ordinance may be compiled into a <br />comprehensive code which the Council may adopt by reference to an adopting <br />ordinance. Comprehensive codes of regulations or ordinances adopted by reference <br />need not be published, provided that copies thereof shall be available at the office of <br />the City Clerk for use or purchase by the public. Repeal or amendment of codified <br />ordinances, or additions to a comprehensive code, shall be accomplished by <br />reference to numerical designations assigned thereto for arrangement and indexing <br />of the comprehensive code. <br />
