<br />Non-Professional Services Agreement between August 18, <br />2023 <br />City of San Leandro and Student Conservation Association <br />Exhibit A Page 3 of 3 <br />• 7 days of service by a staff leader to provide watering services (once a month October – <br />April), schedule to be determined by City of San Leandro or relevant partner <br />• Summer 2024 minimum 1 day a week for 4 weeks of watering support by a crew of 4 <br />members/1 leader or a larger crew of 8 members/2 leaders (TBD) <br /> <br /> <br />Staff Bios: <br /> <br />Kate Casale (she/her) is an environmental educator and leader who currently serves as the Bay <br />Area City Director for the Student Conservation Association. Her dedication to transforming <br />lives, communities, and natural spaces is the thread in her two-decade career in outdoor <br />education, youth workforce development, and agriculture and food justice. Kate’s work spans <br />youth-led initiatives that achieved school food policy wins and the establishment of a vibrant <br />urban farm at the Alameda Point Collaborative; career pathway and green job industry <br />partnership development with the Alameda County Office of Education and Merritt Community <br />College; and employment of hundreds of youth in environmental justice initiatives. She holds a <br />BA in Anthropology, a MSc in International Agricultural Development, and a Teaching Certificate <br />in Agriculture and Natural Resources. Kate resides in Alameda, CA and can most likely be <br />found on the ski hill, a road trip, her kitchen, or out at live music - with her husband James and <br />kids Zephyr and Indigo likely at her side. <br /> <br />Arnold Palmo is an intersectional environmental leader with a decade of experience in <br />developing and implementing community-focused environmental programs in the San Francisco <br />Bay Area and Greater Seattle Area. With a focus on inclusivity, he has worked to ensure <br />historically marginalized groups play a significant role in local initiatives. His skills include <br />fluency in Spanish, Wilderness First Responder and S-212 chainsaw certifications, as well as <br />expertise in ArcGIS and Salesforce database management. As a Program Manager at the <br />Student Conservation Association, he has managed budgets, cultivated partnerships, and led <br />diverse teams, while his early career involved roles in education and community engagement. <br />Arnold received an Associates of Science degree from San Francisco City College in 2014. <br />Outside of work you can find him obsessing over his one-year-old son or on the trails with his <br />dog. <br /> <br /> <br />Calvin Jackson (he/him) is a dedicated and compassionate Community Leader with 8 years of <br />hands-on experience. Currently working as a Program Assistant for the Student Conservation <br />Association, Calvin has been with the organization for over 8 years in a variety of roles including <br />Community Leader, Event Coordinator, and Interim Program Manager. He has demonstrated <br />expertise in effective leadership, youth engagement and fostering genuine relationships.
