put the project on hold and explore a potential withdrawal of the associated conditional use permit <br />application, it is important that the City of San Leandro City Council document its opposition to the <br />proposed project in the event it were to materialize again in the future. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Leandro do <br />hereby oppose EBMUD's proposed "Quarry Site Restoration Project" and urge the EBMUD Board of <br />Directors to formally terminate the Project rather than put it on hold. The City Manager is authorized <br />to take any and all steps necessary to ensure that the project, or any similar project, does not proceed <br />forward on any part of the proposed Quarry site. Such steps could include active engagement and <br />close scrutiny within the environmental review process associated with any future iterations of the <br />project at this location.
