IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2023- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE, ACCEPT, AND <br />AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE HAZARD <br />MITIGATION GRANT PLAN (HMGP) AWARD OF $142,500 AND TO APPROPRIATE THE CITY’S <br />SHARE OF $15,000 TO EXECUTE THE PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program is administered by the California <br />Governor’s Office of Emergency Services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program will be used to develop and adopt a <br />Local Hazard Mitigation Plan pursuant to the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 to meet the <br />requirements outlined in 44 CFR Part 201 and the most current FEMA hazard mitigation plan <br />guidance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on July 25, 2023, the City Manager’s Office submitted a request for grant funding <br />through the state’s online portal to develop a comprehensive plan to form the foundation of a <br />long-term strategy to reduce disaster losses and break the cycle of disaster damage, <br />reconstruction, and repetitive damage; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager’s Office was awarded $142,500 for the project proposed <br />less $15,000 for the non-federal share of grant management. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br /> <br />That the City Council accepts the grant funds and authorizes the City Manager to <br />execute all documents related to the grant award of $142,500; and <br /> <br />That an appropriation of $142,500 from the Grant (F150-3607) fund to account No.010- <br />12-030-5120 is approved and will be refunded when the project is complete; and <br /> <br />That the balance of $15,000 shall be reserved by the City for a required 10% match. <br /> <br />Introduced by _________________, passed and adopted this 20th day of November 2023, <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> Kelly B.
