Exhibit A – Page 1 of 1 <br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />The background investigation will include, but is not limited to, the following: <br /> <br />• Valmis Investigations' report will provide the SLPD with a comprehensive assessment of the candidate's <br />qualifications and characteristics in alignment with the POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) <br />background guidelines and dimensions. Our team will conduct a thorough background investigation of the <br />candidate and offer recommendations to the SLPD regarding the candidate's compliance with both POST <br />and relevant California governmental requirements. <br /> <br />• All documents collected as part of the background investigation will be provided to SLPD, and will become <br />SLPD's property. <br /> <br />• VI will interview the candidate and their references in person, via Zoom, or through written questionnaires <br />at VI's discretion. All video/audio recordings will be made available upon request <br /> <br />• Conduct in-person interviews with current dating partners local to the Bay Area; utilize Zoom interviews for <br />those outside the area. <br /> <br />• Make diligent efforts to contact and interview individuals from the candidate's past relationships as part of <br />the background investigation process. <br /> <br />• VI will interview all parties considered significant in the background investigation process. These <br />individuals may encompass a range of relationships, including but not limited to family members, close <br />personal friends, former spouses, co-workers, and employers. This comprehensive approach ensures a <br />well-rounded understanding of the candidate's background and character. <br /> <br />• Conduct neighborhood canvas and an in-home visit with the applicant, if feasible. <br /> <br />• The background investigation results will be checked against information obtained by the polygraph <br />examiner and used to verify that all information obtained is consistent. <br /> <br />• VI stays updated on all POST changes and promptly implement any necessary adjustments to ensure <br />compliance. <br /> <br />• Report layout adheres to the latest POST requirements. <br />DocuSign Envelope ID: 58BB9655-AF29-4AF5-91C4-6309A60A5A17
