Project Summary <br />San Leandro Treatment Wetland <br />IS/MND <br />iv February 2024 <br /> <br />reflecting its role in serving the community's wastewater <br />treatment needs. <br />Southwest of the WPCP is a channel connected to San <br />Francisco Bay. The San Francisco Bay Trail runs along the <br />western perimeter of the WPCP, which offers visual access to <br />the Proposed Project site, linking the Project to the broader <br />natural and recreational context of the Bay Area. The proximity <br />of these diverse land uses underscores the plant's integral <br />role in the region's industrial and ecological systems. <br />10. Other public agencies whose approval <br />is required: <br /> <br />San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development <br />Commission, San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control <br />Board, California Department of Fish and Wildlife. <br />11. If so, has consultation begun? <br /> <br />While Native American tribes traditionally and culturally <br />affiliated with the Project area have not requested <br />consultation per Section 21080.3.1, tribes were consulted in <br />2018 and 2020. Letters will be issued to individuals affiliated <br />with local tribes during the comment period for this Initial <br />Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration. <br />
