The storage area for the piles shall include straw <br />bales, filter fabric, or other containment devices to contain runoff. <br />o During removal of the existing dock system, floating rafts and/or trash and debris <br />containment booms shall be placed under the docks and around the areas of <br />demolition to contain debris that may be released during these activities. <br />o Pile removal shall only occur during low tide periods to minimize the amount of <br />sediments re-suspended in the water column. <br />o No fueling, cleaning, or maintenance of vehicles or equipment shall take place within <br />an area where an accidental discharge to navigable waterways may occur. <br />o All vehicles and equipment operating within or adjacent to the marina or other <br />waterways shall be visually inspected for fuel or waste releases before the beginning <br />of the work day. If spillage or leaks occur during the work day, they shall be noted and <br />recorded and immediate action shall be taken for removal and disposal. <br />o Floating booms shall be available for containing spills or debris discharged into the <br />water during demolition and construction activities and any debris shall be removed as <br />soon as possible but no later than the end of each day. <br />Section 3: Demolition <br />Contractor shall: <br />1.Remove the superstructure including items attached to the superstructure and handrails at <br />perimeter. <br />2.Remove the floor/deck including landing at top of gangway. Scope includes removal of joists, rim <br />joists, beams, and girders. <br />3.Remove burned portions of piles <br />4.Remove the gangway to the landing of the Marina Office <br />5.Remove docks and piles as necessary to accomplish the work.
