<br />“Universal Waste” or “U-Waste” means all wastes as defined by 22 CCR Subsections 66273.1 through
<br />66273.9. These include, but are not limited to, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury switches, and E-
<br />Waste.
<br />“Unpermitted Waste” means wastes or other materials that the Facility may not receive under their
<br />permits, including:
<br />1. All materials that the Facility is not permitted to accept, excluding white goods with
<br />chlorinated fluorocarbons and capacitors removed, and other materials that Contractor
<br />accepts and safely handles, Recycles, or Disposes.
<br />2. Friable asbestos, unless otherwise approved by applicable regulatory agencies, consisting of
<br />materials that can be crumbled with pressure and are therefore likely to emit fibers, being a
<br />naturally occurring family of carcinogenic fibrous mineral substances, which may be a
<br />Hazardous Materials if it contains more than one percent (1%) asbestos.
<br />3. Hazardous Substance.
<br />4. Untreated Infectious Waste (as defined by Chapter 6.1, Division 20 of the State Health and
<br />Safety Code) that have disease transmission potential and are classified as Hazardous Wastes
<br />by the State Department of Health Services, including untreated pathological and surgical
<br />wastes, untreated medical clinic wastes, untreated wastes from biological laboratories,
<br />syringes, needles, blades, tubing, bottles, drugs, patient care items such as linen or personal
<br />or food service items from contaminated areas, chemicals, personal hygiene wastes, and
<br />carcasses used for medical purposes or with known infectious disease.
<br />5. Liquid wastes that are not spadable including cannery and food Processing wastes, landfill
<br />leachate and gas condensate, boiler blowdown water, grease trap pumpings, oil and
<br />geothermal field wastes, septic tank pumpings, rendering plant byproducts, and those liquid
<br />wastes that may be Hazardous Wastes.
<br />6. Radioactive wastes under Chapter 7.6 (commencing with Section 25800) of Division 20 of the
<br />State Health and Safety Code, and any waste that contains a radioactive material, the storage
<br />or disposal of which is subject to any other State or Federal regulation.
<br />This definition will be promptly amended to reflect any applicable changes in permits or Applicable Law.
<br />“Vendor” means a Person who has entered into a contract with Contractor for performance of an act that
<br />is necessary for Contractor’s fulfillment of an unsubstantial portion of its obligations for providing service
<br />under this Agreement. Vendors include, but are not limited to, printers of public education and outreach
<br />materials, document translators, material and supply providers, and professional service providers.
<br />“Working Days” means days on which the Contractor is required to provide Post-Collection Services under
<br />this Agreement.
<br />“Yard Trimmings” means those City Delivered Materials that will decompose and/or putrefy, including,
<br />but not limited to, green trimmings, grass, weeds, flowers, leaves, prunings, branches, dead plants, brush,
<br />tree trimmings, dead trees, and other types of Organic Materials resulting from normal yard and
