IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XXX RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH BUILDING FUTURES FOR SHELTER OPERATIONS FOR AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $200,446 IN HHAP FUNDS WHEREAS, the Homeless Housing, Assistance, and Prevention (HHAP) grant program provides flexible block grant funds to Continuums of Care, large cities and counties to support regional coordination and expand or develop local capacity to end and prevent homelessness in local communities throughout the state of California; and WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has been allocated $200,446 in HHAP funds, passed through the County of Alameda; and WHEREAS, Building Futures provides San Leandro individuals and families in need with shelter, Domestic Violence support and advocacy, and interim housing services; and WHEREAS, Building Futures operates the San Leandro Shelter, a 30-bed shelter for women with and without children that provides a warm and safe environment and support services designed to help residents address the obstacles they face to ending their homelessness; and WHEREAS, Building Futures additionally operates Sister Me Home, a 20-bed shelter with 24- hour staffing and culturally appropriate support services which is open to all fleeing domestic violence, regardless of gender identification; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City of San Leandro City Council does RESOLVE as follows: That said agreement in the amount of $200,446 is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
