While the the city had a home ownership rate of 55% (similar to the Alameda County rate of <br />53%) in 2011-14, renters account for over two-thirds of households in many San Leandro <br />neighborhoods. The majority of these neighborhoods or block groups are concentrated in Council <br />District 1.
