Children in households headed by a single woman are the most likely to be in poverty (29%), <br />followed by children in households headed by a single man (23%), while 10% of children in married- <br />couple households are in poverty.37 Additionally, 29% of calls from San Leandro clients to 2-1-1, <br />the three-digit telephone number that provides Alameda County residents with access to health, <br />housing and human services referrals, were single mothers with children in 2015.38 <br /> <br />As can be seen in the following map, families with children under 18 are found throughout San <br />Leandro, with the largest numbers living in block groups in City Council districts 1, 2, 5, and 6.
