Park Assessment In Spring 2024, all city parks were evaluated to assess the overall state of San Leandro’s park system. As summarized in Figure 4.1, each facility was evaluated using a pre-defined rubric with criteria grouped into four categories: Access and Connectivity, Functionality, Condition, and Comfort and Sense of Safety. Facilities were scored on a 1–10 scale, with the following qualitative ratings: • Poor (0 - 4.0) • Fair (4.1 - 6.0) • Good (6.1 - 8.0) • Great (8.1 - 10) A detailed breakdown of the Park Assessment is available in Appendix B.
