As a local resource, the City is supported by in-lie fees collected
under the City’s Inclusionary Housing Ordinance, in which fees are deposited into the AHTF. The AHTF encourages the development of affordable
housing. As for regionally, Alameda County’s Measure A1 Bound had allocated $10 million to the City for affordable rental projects out of the $580
million countywide that was approved in 2016 to address the housing crisis. Additionally, grants, tax credits, bonds, acts, and other programs
provide additional funding sources. Lastly, the City also leverages its general funds to provide financial support to non-profits that provide social
services, such as the CAP Program. By carefully monitoring and strategically planning, the City consistently places itself to compete effectively for
funding opportunities, all while progressing its housing and community development objectives.
