The Study explored existing issues and opportunities, potential
improvements, and a preferred set of recommendations reflecting the priorities and vision for
both corridors. The Study builds off the City’s commitment to Vision Zero traffic safety by
developing transformative safety improvements that address driver safety and enhance mobility
and safety for the most vulnerable road users.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommends the approval of the Crosstown Corridor Study along Bancroft Avenue and
Williams Street.
BACKGROUND
The Caltrans Sustainable Transportation Planning (STP) Grant Program was created to support
the state’s goal to provide a safe, sustainable, integrated, and efficient transportation system to
enhance California’s economy and livability.
