City of San Leandro <br />City Council <br />Meeting Date: June 16, 2025 <br />Agenda Number: 10.c. <br />Agenda Section: ACTION ITEMS <br />File Number: 25-266 <br />File Type: Staff Report <br />Second Reading of the Ordinance to Amend Municipal Code Section 4-33-200 to Authorize a Fourth <br />Retail Cannabis Dispensary Operating Permit <br />COUNCIL PRIORITY <br />·Economic Development <br />SUMMARY <br />On May 19, 2025, the City Council voted 4-1-2 to <br />1)Introduce for First Reading an ordinance to amend Municipal Code Section 4-33-200 to <br />authorize the issuance of a fourth retail cannabis dispensary operating permit; and <br />2)Adopt a Resolution awarding the fourth retail cannabis dispensary operating permit to <br />DSWC II Inc., to be effective 30 days following the adoption of the Ordinance . <br />A second reading is required to adopt the above-referenced ordinance, which would become <br />effective 30 days after its adoption . <br />Pursuant to the City Council’s May 19, 2025 approval to introduce an Ordinance to amend San <br />Leandro Municipal Code Section 4-33-200, the Ordinance is presented for adoption at the June <br />16, 2025 City Council meeting. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />A: Ordinance Amendment <br />PREPARED BY: Eric Engelbart, Deputy City Manager <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 9/4/2025
