CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Former Recreation and Parks Commissioner Diana Souza led the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Badger, Grant, Santos, Starosciak, Stephens; Mayor Young <br /> <br />ABSENT: Member Nardine <br /> <br /> <br /> 2. PRESENTATIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced the following presentation made since the last regular City <br />Council meeting: <br /> <br />?A Proclamation declaring April 24-28, 2006 as “National Medical Laboratory <br />Professionals Week” in San Leandro. <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported that her final Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament was held on April 18, <br />2006. The approximately $8,000 in proceeds from this year’s tournament will be divided <br />equally between two entities: the San Leandro Police Officers Association, which formed <br />a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation for memorial purposes; and the Niemi Family Fund. Mrs. <br />Niemi has decided to contribute her share to the San Leandro Boys and Girls Club. <br />Mayor Young commented that since its inception about seven years ago, the Mayor’s <br />Community Fund has given approximately $100,000 to individuals and small organizations <br />in the community that would not otherwise be eligible to receive grants. <br /> <br />A. Recognition of the Employee of the Month for the Month of May 2006, <br />Nicole Roa, Recreation Supervisor II, Recreation and Human Services Department. <br /> <br />
