CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Hank Deadrich led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Men1bers Badger, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Stephens; Mayor Young <br /> <br />ABSENT: Vice Mayor Glaze <br /> <br />City Manager Jellnanis mlliounced at the request of the Council, staff is researching the <br />issue of motorized scooters and will present its findings at a future meeting along with <br />recon1n1endations for Council's consideration. <br /> <br />2. PRESENTATIONSIRECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced the following presentations were made since the last City Council <br />lneeting: <br /> <br />· The Mayor and Council made a contribution from the Mayor's COll1illunity Fund to St. <br />Leander Church for its Ham10ny Concert fundraiser. <br />· A commendation was presented to Patricia Rougeau ofMDL Information Systems. <br />· A proclamation was presented to Josie Phinney upon her retirement from Union Bank <br />ofCalifo111ia and proclaiming June 27,2003 as "Josie Phinney Day" in San Leandro. <br />· A commendation was presented to Kay Wellington for her service to the community as <br />Pastor of San Leandro Community Church. <br />· A commendation was presented to Cheryl Perry League upon being named President of <br />the National Forum for Black Adn1inistrators (NFBP A). <br />
