CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Library-Historical Commissioner Arnold Mew led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Badger, Glaze, Grant, Nardine, Santos; Mayor Young <br /> <br />ABSENT: Member Stephens <br /> <br />2. PRESENTATIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />A. Announcement of Winners of the Compost Giveaway, Food Scrap Recycling Program. <br /> <br />Mayor Young acknowledged Louie Pellegrini from Alanleda County Industries (ACI) <br />for helping the City coordinate the Compost Giveaway. Mayor Young introduced <br />Environmental Services Manager Mike Bakaldin, who gave a Sh011 presentation on the <br />Food Scrap Recycling Program which was nlade possible by ACI and Alarneda County <br />Waste Management Authority. Mr. Bakaldin described the process by which residents <br />who participated in the Food Scrap Recycling Program were given coupons for free <br />COlllpost at Evergreen Nursery. Those residents who redeemed coupons were <br />automatically entered into the drawing for a year of free garbage service. <br /> <br />Mayor Young gave additional infoffilation on San Leandro's recycling efforts and <br />announced the ten winners of a year of free garbage service in the first Compost <br />Giveaway drawing. Mayor Young recognized the cooperative efforts of Jan and Dan <br />Rodrigues of Evergreen Nursery for distributing the free conlpost, ACI for working with <br />the City to start the curbside collection of food scraps and the Alanleda County Waste <br />
