It provides for construction of streetscape improvements including <br />landscaping, irrigation, decorative streetlights in the existing median, and entryway monument <br />on Doolittle Drive between Adams Avenue and 98th Avenue. <br /> <br />Phase 2 is a sole effort by the City of San Leandro with a contribution from the Port of Oakland, <br />and provides for construction of streetscape, landscaping, and irrigation similar to Phase 1 on <br />Doolittle Drive between Adams Avenue and Davis Street. <br /> <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />The project is partially funded with budget authorized in Capital Improvement Program Account <br />No. 230-43-155 and Redevelopment Agency Account No. 964-83-060. This action will increase <br />the funding by the amount contributed by the City of Oakland and the Port of Oakland <br /> <br />Staff recommends appropriation of funds in the following amounts for the subject project <br />. $1,001,400, which represents the City of Oakland's contribution toward Phase 1 <br />. $381,500, which represents the Port of Oakland's contribution toward Phase 1 <br />. $197,262, which represents the Port of Oakland's contribution toward Phase 2 <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />In 2001, an entryway plan between Oakland and San Leandro was developed to improve the <br />common entryway on Doolittle Drive between Davis Street and Airport Drive. A Memorandum <br />of Understanding (MOU) was executed between the cities of Oakland, San Leandro, and the Port <br />of Oakland to fund portions of the project within their respective jurisdictions. In early 2007, a <br />revised MOU was executed between the parties to account for increased costs. <br />
