CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Grant, Loefller, Lothrop, <br />Nardine; Mayor Young <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should ftJl out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br /> <br />A. Felix Elizaldo, 5942 Greenridge Avenue, Alameda County Board of <br />Education, addressed the City Council and congratulated them on considering a <br />Resolution recognizing Cesar Chavez. He urged the City Council to adopt the <br />Resolution before them this evening. <br /> <br />B. Tom Martell, 15308 Laverne Drive, Representing the Youth Advisory <br />Commission, addressed the City Council. He commented on a "Youth <br />Recognition Wall" that the Y AC will be presenting to both of the School Boards <br />and Art Council. <br /> <br />C. Paul Vargas, 872 Portola Drive, addressed the City Council and asked whether <br />the City will be granting a paid holiday for City employees or just issuing a <br />Proclamation recognizing the birthday of Cesar Chavez. <br />
