Presentation by Main Street Property Services, Inc. on a Proposed Broker Campaign <br />for Downtown San Leandro <br />City Manager Jermanis introduced Assistant to the City Manager Battenberg who reported <br />that the City had retained Main Street Property Services, Inc. (MSPS) to develop Design <br />Guidelines and Principles for Downtown San Leandro, which have recently been completed, <br />and a marketing campaign. The intent of the marketing campaign is to target retail brokers in <br />an effort to promote awareness of the opportunity available in Downtown San Leandro for <br />specific target tenants and the retail brokerage community, and to overcome the perceptions <br />retailers and brokers sometimes associate with Downtown San Leandro. Manager <br />Battenberg then introduced Craig Semmelmeyer, Principal of MSPS, who opened his <br />presentation with a historical perspective of retail and commercial activities in Downtown <br />districts. <br />Mr. Semmelmeyer proceeded by further describing the marketing campaign and introducing <br />the specific components of the campaign which include downtown -area maps, regional trade <br />area maps, postcards to be mailed to brokers and retailers, and other consumer -friendly items <br />
