Copies of the letter, which is <br />attached, were distributed. <br />1. Army Corps of Engineers Channel Dredging Update <br />2. Review of Schedule for Harbor Dredging <br />3. Discussion of Funding of Harbor Dredging and Dredge Disposal <br />City Manager Jermanis provided an overview of the City's efforts the past few years to obtain <br />grant funding to dredge the channel. Assistant City Manager Hollister then updated the <br />Committee on the City's recent conversations with the Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) <br />regarding dredging of the federal channel. Manager Hollister explained that although $1.7 <br />million in federal funds has been appropriated to dredge the channel, the Corps' dredging <br />estimate is $2.5 million, leaving a $700,000 shortfall. Staff has been working with the Corps <br />to develop a strategy for partial dredging given inadequate funding to complete the full <br />dredging project.
