Hollister <br />Interim City Manager <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACTUAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH GROUP 4 <br />ARCHITECTURE RESEARCH & PLANNING, INC. RELATING TO THE SENIOR CENTER <br />PHASE 2 IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 06-210-18-116 <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of a contractual services agreement with Group 4 Architecture <br />Research & Planning, Inc. in the amount of $452,075 tb provide construction administration and <br />project closeout services for the subject project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Senior Center project consists of a 21,000 square foot building capable of supporting <br />existing and future senior citizen programs and functioning as the City's Emergency Operations <br />Center as needed. The City has recently awarded the contract for construction of Phase 2 <br />improvements to Alten Construction, Inc. Construction is expected to start in Winter 2008 and <br />continue for sixteen months. Construction administration and project closeout services are <br />needed for the subject project. Group 4 Architecture Research & Planning, Inc. was the design <br />consultant for preparation of the project construction documents and is the most suitable firm to <br />complete these services. <br />Analysis <br />The Phase 2 project will consist of the building construction and the reconstruction of a second <br />parking area that will be used for staging during the construction period. Highlights of the <br />building include: <br />• Main Assembly Hall <br />• Classrooms <br />• Computer Learning Center <br />Exercise Room <br />
