CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />CITY COUNCIL FACILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE <br />November 4, 2008 <br />4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. <br />San Leandro City Hall <br />835 E. 14th Street <br />San Leandro, California <br />Sister Cities Gallery <br />HIGHLIGHTS <br />Committee Members: Mayor Tony Santos, Chair, Councilmember Diana Souza., and <br />Councilmember Joyce Starosciak <br />City Staff Present: Dale Attarian, Cynthia Battenberg, Keith Cooke, Steve Hollister, <br />Ken Joseph, Carolyn Knudtson, Elmer Penaranda, Pauline Tabilang, <br />and Uche Udemezue <br />Public Present: Sabrina Almazan, Peggy Combs, Gordon Galvan, Karen Holzmeister, <br />and Corina Lopez <br />The meeting was called to order at 4:01 p.m. Carolyn Knudtson requested that Item 4 on the <br />Agenda be moved to Item 2 and Mayor Santos approved. <br />1. Discussion Regarding Project Updates <br />Ken Joseph delivered a PowerPoint presentation on current Engineering projects. <br />a. Senior Center -Phase 2 (Building) Work is one month behind schedule due to problems <br />with the Phase 1 (Parking Lot) landscape subcontractor. The problem has been resolved <br />and Phase 1 Landscaping should be complete in three weeks. The traffic signals are <br />currently working, however San Leandro Hospital is reluctant to give up the Phase 2 <br />parking lot area until the Phase 1 parking lot area is clear of contractors. <br />b. Doolittle Drive Entryway Improvements - Project is complete with the exception of <br />the punch list. The slurry seal was completed as a separate project. There is a minor <br />problem involving trucks short-cutting through driveways and running over landscaping. <br />A solution is being looked into. <br />c. Downtown Lighting and Pedestrian Improvements -Project is ahead of schedule with <br />work currently being done on Sergio's parking lot. Rain delayed the completion of the <br />
