Hollister <br />City Manager <br />Kenneth Joseph, City Enginee <br />Engineering and Transportatio Department <br />SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACTUAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH EXARO <br />TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATION RELATING TO THE ANNUAL OVERLAY/ <br />REHABILITATION 2008-09 PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 08-144-38-296 <br />Planned work will include: locating high-risk underground utilities within the street areas to be <br />reconstructed; controlling traffic during the coring and potholing operations; and restoring the <br />street with slurry backfill. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of a contractual services agreement with EXARO Technologies <br />Corporation in the amount of $42,801 for the subject project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Each year, the City selects a number of streets to be rehabilitated as part of the Annual <br />Overlay/Rehabilitation project based on recommendations from the Street Saver pavement <br />management system and available funding. The following four streets are to be reconstructed as <br />part of the Annual Overlay/Rehabilitation 2008-09 project this year: <br />• Aladdin Avenue from Teagarden Street to Alvarado Street <br />• Dolores Avenue from Bancroft Avenue to Grand Avenue <br />• Montague Street from Teagarden Street to the railroad tracks, approximately 550 feet to <br />the east <br />• Zelma Street from Manor Boulevard to Purdue Street <br />To insure that the work does not damage any underground gas or water structures, the City hires <br />a utility locator every year to pothole the existing mains and service laterals and incorporate the <br />
