Discussion Regarding Joint Use Projects <br />• Washington Manor Middle School Gymnasium <br />Superintendent Byas stated that the Washington Manor Middle School Gymnasium <br />construction is coming along better than he anticipated. The gym will have a sound <br />system installed and will be used for a variety of events. A discussion ensued on the <br />potential uses for the new gymnasium upon completion. Councilmember Starosciak <br />inquired on the date the gymnasium would be completed and stated that the <br />completion of the gymnasium could improve the District's attendance. <br />Superintendent Byas stated that the new gymnasium will be completed by September <br />2009 and agreed that the gymnasium will improve school attendance and improve <br />the community. <br />Councilmember Prola inquired on the student capacity of Washington Manor Middle <br />School. The Superintendent stated 700 students currently and the capacity is 900 <br />students. <br />
