Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Loeffler, Lothrop, Polvorosa, <br />Young; Mayor Corbett <br />ABSENT: None <br />2. PRESENTATIONS <br />A. Presentation of Commendation to Terri Neumann, Out-Going President of <br />the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce. <br />Terri Neumann, Out-Going President of the San Leandro Chamber of <br />Commerce, was present to accept the Proclamation. <br />Council Member Young commented on how Ms. Neumann had facilitated the <br />advancement of women in business during her term with the Chamber of <br />Commerce. <br />Mayor Corbett commended Terri Neumann for her efforts to broaden the <br />Chamber of Commerce's involvement in local government by working closely <br />with the San Leandro City Council on government issues while <br />representing the position of the business community and for her efforts <br />in encouraging the Chamber to reach out and broaden the membership to <br />be more inclusive in San Leandro's changing demographics. <br />B. Presentation of Commendation to Fred Korematsu in Recognition of His <br />Receipt of the United States Medal of Freedom. <br />Mr. Korematsu was present to accept the Proclamation and made brief <br />remarks about his experiences in San Leandro. <br />Mayor Corbett commented on Mr. Korematsu's actions and perseverance <br />which have brought honor and respect to the Japanese American community <br />and commended him for being a model citizen and an example of how all <br />Americans should stand and fight for our Nation's rights and freedoms. <br />
