CALL TO ORDER <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br />B. Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Loeffler, Lothrop, Polvorosa, <br />Young; Mayor Corbett <br />ABSENT: Council Member Loeffler <br />2. PRESENTATIONS <br />A. Presentation of Matching Award of X25,000 from the Association of Bay <br />Area Governments (ABAG) to the Oakland/San Leandro Joint Revitalization <br />Strategy Project. <br />Gary Binger, representing the Association of Bay Area Governments <br />(ABAG), presented a check in the amount of $25,000 to the Mayor and <br />Leslie Gould, Manager of Redevelopment Projects. <br />B. Proclamation Declaring June 1-7, 1998, as "National Drug Treatment Court <br />Week." <br />Judge Sanders, San Leandro/Hayward Municipal Court, accepted the <br />Proclamation. <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />None <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br />to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items of public <br />interest, at this time. <br />A. Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, addressed the Council in opposition to <br />the proposed gun tax. <br />
