CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:01 p.m. <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br />Mayor Santos led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />B. Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Members Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Santos <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Santos called for a few moments of silence in memory of Mayor Emeritus Jack <br />Maltester. <br />2. PRESENTATIONS/ RECOGNITIONS <br />A. Proclamation Declaring May 2009 as "Older Americans Month" in San Leandro. <br />Sylvia Stadmire, Alameda County Area Agency on Aging Commissioner and San <br />Leandro Senior Commissioner, accepted the proclamation presented by Vice Mayor Bill <br />Stephens. <br />B. Presentation Regarding the "April Showers" Homeless Program. <br />Gene Bass, representing the Interfaith Homelessness Network's April Showers <br />Program, described the services provided by the program to homeless clients.
