AMENDMENT NO.1 TO CONTRACTUAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH COMMUNITY, DESIGN + ARCHITECTURE (CD+A) THIS AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT is made as San Leandro. California, as of December 15, 2003, by and between THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO ("City") and Community, Design + Architecture ("Contractor"). This Amendment is made in contemplation of the following facts, understandings, and intentions of the parties: A. On May 20, 2002, the City and Contractor entered into an Agreement, relating to the preparation of the East 14th Street South Area Development Strategy for an amount not to exceed $134,500, as agreed to in said Agreement. The scope of work consisted of performing tasks including conducting Community Workshops, assisting City staff with aCouncil-appointed Advisory Committee, conducting a land inventory, preparation of prototypical design concepts, preparation of Design Guidelines, preparation of maps and graphics and other related tasks. Work commenced in May 2002 and is approximately 85% complete. B. The planning process was extended beyond May 2003, to provide the Council-appointed Advisory Committee additional time to conduct policy-related discussions in order to develop a broad community consensus on the proposed Development Strategy and to provide additional opportunities for community outreach. C. The City desires to amend the Agreement to extend the scope of the Agreement and correspondingly increase the total amount of payment by $40,280 for a total contract amount of $174,780. The additional work of this amendment includes providing assistance to City staff for several additional Advisory Committee meetings, additional work on refinement of the draft plan, and assistance with the community participation component of the process.
