CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />STAFF REPORT <br />DATE: November 2, 2009 <br />TO: Stephen Hollister, City Manager <br />FROM: Perry Carter, Interim Finance Director ~1C.~ <br />SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />APPROVED AND <br />FORWARDED <br />TO CITY COUNCIL <br />tephen Hollister, <br />City Manager <br />MATTER OF RATIFICATION OF COMPOSITION OF AD HOC CITIZENS' BUDGET <br />TASK FORCE <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />That Council adopts a motion ratifying the attached list (Schedule A) of proposed members for <br />the Ad Hoc Citizens' Budget Task Force (Committee). <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />At its September 28, 2009 budget work session the Mayor proposed and Council discussed <br />establishing an ad hoc Citizen's Budget Task Force. The purpose of the task force would be to <br />provide community input regarding City programs and services with respect to preparing the <br />2010-11 General Fund Budget. <br />As discussed, each Council Member would appoint one member to the Committee. In addition, <br />the Mayor would appoint one representative from each of the three City labor groups; one <br />representative from the Chamber of Commerce and representatives from two Homeowner <br />Associations. The total number of Committee members would be thirteen. <br />At the Council's October 19, 2009 meeting, the City Council passed a motion creating such a <br />task force. Further, the Council indicated that it would ratify the composition of the task force at <br />the Council meeting of November 2, 2009. The attached list (Schedule A) conforms to the <br />direction provided by Council <br />The following sections outline briefly staff's proposed program for the Committee, which is: (1) <br />the proposed calendar for the Committee, (2) the format for Committee meetings and (3) major <br />objectives: <br />
