Cooke, Principal Engineer <br />Engineering and Transportation Dep e t <br />SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT <br />FOR THE SALE OF A PORTION OF PARCEL 1 OF THE LAND DESCRIBED IN THE <br />GRANT DEED RECORDED OCTOBER 12, 1988 AS INSTRUMENT NO 88-257044. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />As a condition of approval of Vesting Tentative Map 8010 (San Leandro Crossings West) Chang <br />Income Property Partnership (CIPP), Inc., the developer of the tract, is required to purchase land <br />between Alvarado Street and 1333 Martinez Street so that it may be incorporated into Tract 8010 <br />and used for emergency vehicle access. <br />Staff recommends adoption of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an <br />agreement for the sale of the subject property to CIPP, Inc. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Vesting Tentative Map 8010 (San Leandro Crossings West) has been approved for 1333 <br />Martinez Street. One of the conditions of approval for the Final Map is that the developer of the <br />tract must acquire aCity-owned excess property so that emergency vehicles may access Lot Two <br />of the development from Alvarado Street. <br />The City owns title to a parcel of land that runs behind the sidewalk on the east side of Alvarado <br />Street between West Estudillo Avenue and the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) crossing. As the <br />roadway approaches the UPRR crossing, it curves to the west, while said parcel continues so that <br />it resembles a peninsula of approximately 3,215 square feet between the UPRR right of way and <br />1333 Martinez Street, which is owned by the CIPP, Inc.
