Hollister <br />City Manager <br />Uchenna Udemezue, P.E., Director <br />Engineering and Transportation Dep ment <br />Kenneth Joseph, P.E., City Engineer <br />Engineering and Transportation Depaxtment~ <br />SUBJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WATER POLLUTION <br />CONTROL PLANT CO-GENERATION FACILITY, PROJECT NO. 08-593-52-228. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends acceptance of the work of the subject project and filing of the Notice of <br />Completion in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Energy Services Design/Build <br />Agreement between the City of San Leandro and Siemens. Building Technologies, Inc. dated <br />September 15, 2008. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Analysis <br />In September 2008, the City entered into an Energy Services Design/Build Agreement with <br />Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. to design, construct and maintain an electrical co- <br />generation facility at the Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). The project included the <br />installation o£ 3-110 kilowatt generators fueled by methane gas supplied by the treatment <br />process of the WPCP; a 13,650 gallon grease receiving station for the collection and storage of <br />waste grease to be used in the WPCP digester process; and associated hot water piping, electrical <br />systems, and telemetry in support of the facility. <br />Under the terms of the agreement, Siemens will maintain the facility and guarantee electrical <br />power production for a period of 15 years from the date of this acceptance. <br />
