Hollister <br />City Manager <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WORK FOR THE BAY TRAIL SLOUGH BRIDGE <br />PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 08-144-39-012, FEDERAL AID PROJECT NO. HP21L-5041(025). <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends acceptance of the work, filing of the Notice of Completion, and upon <br />completion to the satisfaction of the City Engineer of the one-year maintenance period, hereby <br />authorizes the City Manager to release the maintenance bond for the subject project. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Bay Trail Slough Bridge project consists of a 4-span, 350-foot long pedestrian bridge across <br />the San Leandro Slough and 600 feet of connecting trail constructed by widening an existing <br />levee. The completed project closed a major gap in the east bay region of the San Francisco Bay <br />Trail. The project was completed with the cooperation of the East Bay Regional Park District <br />(EBRPD), the Port of Oakland and numerous funding and supporting agencies. <br />The project is located on three parcels. Each parcel is owned separately by the Port of Oakland, <br />EBRPD and the City. By previous agreement with the Port, the Port will take ownership and <br />maintenance responsibility of the completed improvements on its property. The southern edge of <br />the bridge sits on EBRPD land. By previous agreement with EBRPD, EBRPD will take <br />ownership and maintenance responsibility of the completed improvements on its property. <br />EBRPD also provided the City with a suitable easement over its property to allow for future <br />maintenance and operation of the San Leandro Slough Bridge by the City. <br />
