SPECIAL MEETING - Community Library Center <br /> Lecture Hall <br /> 300 Estudillo Avenue <br /> San Leandro, California <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Lothrop, Young; <br /> Vice Mayor Polvorosa <br /> ABSENT /EXCUSED: Council Member Loeffler, Mayor Corbett <br /> Mayor Corbett was out of town accepting an award on behalf of the City from <br /> FEMA for the City's Disaster Preparedness and Seismic Safety Programs. <br /> 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br /> to make any comments related to Agenda items or other items of public <br /> interest at this time. Comments regarding Public Hearing items will be <br /> heard during the Public Hearing portion of the Agenda. <br /> A. John Justino discussed naming a City facility after Tony Nascimento; he <br /> said he had taken the matter to the Recreation and Parks Commission, but <br /> Dave Bohne explained City Council policy and the Commission did not wish <br /> to make a recommendation. <br /> The City Council said it is up to the Commission to make a <br /> recommendation to the City Council. After receiving the Commission's <br /> recommendation, the Council could decide to make an exception to the <br /> policy. <br /> B. Larry Norry agreed that Mr. Nascimento should receive some sort of <br /> recognition for his 50 years of service. <br />
