MINUTES <br /> CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL AND <br /> REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> MEETING <br /> AUGUST 5, 1996 <br /> REGULAR MEETING -- 7:00 P.M. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 1.1 Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> 1.2 Roll Call <br /> PRESENT: Members Galvan, Glaze, Loeffler, Lothrop, Polvorosa, Young; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 2. PRESENTATIONS <br /> 2.1 Commendation to Olga S. Frey for her receipt of the Liberty Bell <br /> Award and for her many years of dedicated service. <br /> 2.2 Proclamation Declaring August 5 -10, 1996, as "San Leandro Historical <br /> Society Membership Week." <br /> Christopher Dorden received the Proclamation from the Mayor. Mr. <br /> Dorden said the Historical Society appreciates the City's support in <br /> their endeavors. He also said that it is evident the City is <br /> interested in preserving local history by the retrofit of Casa <br /> Peralta and the City Hall project. He thanked the Mayor for all of <br /> her support and stated he is sure, with the Council's support, the <br /> Historical Society will have further success and expansion. <br /> 2.3 Special Proclamation for Alice Calvert Presented by Mayor Corbett. <br /> Council Member Galvan said it is a bitter -sweet loss. For the last <br /> year and a half he has had the pleasure of sitting next to Alice. <br /> When it gets to be midnight and we are trying to decide an issue it <br /> is good to have her sense of humor. Alice Calvert would certainly be <br /> someone who would be an all -star free agent -- a Mark McGuire of the <br /> City Clerk world. He knows Alice will knock 'em dead in Livermore. <br /> Council Member Young said she has only known Alice a short amount of <br /> time. Alice has a very dynamic aura and confidence. Council Member <br /> Young is enormously proud of Alice moving on and pleased with her <br /> reach to improve her circle of influence. <br />
