IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 98 - 016 (1078/1934/2047 /1413) <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE III, CHAPTER 6 AND <br /> TITLE III, CHAPTER 7 OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> RELATING TO THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, REFUSE AND RECYCLING <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: <br /> Section 1. Title III, Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 are hereby repealed and reenacted as <br /> follows: <br /> ARTICLE 1. GENERAL <br /> Section 3-6 -100: DEFINITIONS. The following definitions shall govern the construction <br /> of this Chapter unless the context otherwise requires: <br /> (a) CITY. OR CITY OF SAN LEANDRO. "City" or "City of San Leandro" means <br /> the incorporated territory of the City of San Leandro. <br /> (b) GARBAGE. "Garbage" means all putrescible kitchen and table food waste, and <br /> animal or vegetable food waste that attends or results from the preparation, <br /> storage, handling, cooking or consumption of foods. <br /> (c) PERSON. "Person" includes any person, firm, association, organization, <br /> partnership, business, trust, joint venture, corporation, or company and includes <br /> the United States, the State of California, the County of Alameda, the City of San <br /> Leandro, cities, districts, and any officer or agency thereof. <br /> (d) RECYCLABLE MATERIALS. "Recyclable materials" means those materials <br /> separated out from Solid Waste by or for the generator thereof on the premises at <br /> which they were generated for the purposes of recycling, composting, reuse or <br /> other handling different from that of Solid Waste. This does not require that <br /> different types of recyclable commodities be separated from each other, except <br /> from organic Recyclable Material, as defined in 3 -6 -222. Recyclable Materials <br /> include but are not limited to, the following: <br /> Newspapers <br /> Glass bottles and jars <br /> Steel, tin and aluminum cans, aluminum foil and pie tins, and scrap metals <br /> Corrugated cardboard <br /> 1 <br />
