IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO ORDINANCE NO. 98 - 016 (1078/1934/2047 /1413) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE III, CHAPTER 6 AND TITLE III, CHAPTER 7 OF THE SAN LEANDRO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, REFUSE AND RECYCLING The City Council of the City of San Leandro does ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. Title III, Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 are hereby repealed and reenacted as follows: ARTICLE 1. GENERAL Section 3-6 -100: DEFINITIONS. The following definitions shall govern the construction of this Chapter unless the context otherwise requires: (a) CITY. OR CITY OF SAN LEANDRO. "City" or "City of San Leandro" means the incorporated territory of the City of San Leandro. (b) GARBAGE. "Garbage" means all putrescible kitchen and table food waste, and animal or vegetable food waste that attends or results from the preparation, storage, handling, cooking or consumption of foods. (c) PERSON. "Person" includes any person, firm, association, organization, partnership, business, trust, joint venture, corporation, or company and includes the United States, the State of California, the County of Alameda, the City of San Leandro, cities, districts, and any officer or agency thereof. (d) RECYCLABLE MATERIALS. "Recyclable materials" means those materials separated out from Solid Waste by or for the generator thereof on the premises at which they were generated for the purposes of recycling, composting, reuse or other handling different from that of Solid Waste. This does not require that different types of recyclable commodities be separated from each other, except from organic Recyclable Material, as defined in 3 -6 -222. Recyclable Materials include but are not limited to, the following: Newspapers Glass bottles and jars Steel, tin and aluminum cans, aluminum foil and pie tins, and scrap metals Corrugated cardboard 1
