Discussion regarding Consulting Services Agreement with Pacific Coast Farmers' Market <br /> Association Management and Operation of the 2011- 2013 Farmers' Market <br /> City Manager Hollister introduced the item, before handing it over to Business Development <br /> Manager Battenberg who provided the Committee with a brief overview of the history and success <br /> of the Farmers' Market. Senior Development Specialist Wegerbauer outlined the services provided <br /> by Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association (PCFMA), and provided the Committee with a <br /> memo highlighting the growth of the market from an average weekly attendance of 1,320 people in <br /> 2008, to an average weekly attendance of 1,920 in 2010 (see attached). Wegerbauer recommended <br /> the City enter into a consulting services agreement with PCFMA for the management and <br /> operation of the 2011- 2013 Farmers' Markets at a cost not -to- exceed $29,400. <br /> The Committee discussed the market, noting that it was very well received within the community. <br /> The Committee suggested that a booth be made available for Councilmembers as well as City <br /> Board and Commission members to share information and interact with the public. The <br /> Committee suggested the City explore opening another Farmers' Market in West San Leandro. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> The Committee unanimously approved entering into a consulting services agreement with <br /> PCFMA for the 2011 -2013 Farmers' Markets at a cost not to exceed S29,400. <br />
