Discussion Regarding Broadband Connectivity Including: <br /> a. A Consultant Services Agreement with Tellus Ventures for Development of a <br /> Broadband Connectivity Strategy for the Commercial/Industrial Area and <br /> Technical Assistance in Evaluating "Lit San Leandro" a Proposal for a Dark <br /> Fiber Ring, and <br /> b. An Exclusive Negotiating Rights Agreement between the City of San Leandro <br /> OSlsoft, Inc. for a Dark Fiber Ring. <br /> Business Development Manager Battenberg explained to the Committee that improving the <br /> broadband connectivity in San Leandro was identified by the Redevelopment Advisory <br /> Committee (RAC) and the City Council as a priority project in the fall of 2010 as part of the <br /> 2010 -14 Redevelopment Implementation Plan. The City began meeting with Patrick Kennedy, <br /> President of OSlsoft, in late 2010 regarding his plan to use the City's conduit infrastructure to <br /> create a dark fiber ring to increase interne capacity and take advantage of San Leandro's <br /> strategic location near numerous fiber optic trunk lines. <br />
