Budget Updates <br /> San Lorenzo Unified School District ( SLzUSD) <br /> Superintendent Byas and Dr. Shira stated that the District has reserves of $3M — $6M for <br /> program improvements over the next three years, that is if there are no cuts to education in <br /> the state budget. They also stated that currently the District is imposing three furlough days <br /> this year and will negotiate to continue that policy for three years. A discussion ensued about <br /> the proposed state legislation and budget and how it may affect the District's budget. <br /> A discussion followed about the maintenance of the District's new three synthetic fields. <br /> Mayor Cassidy suggested a possible share of maintenance equipment with the San Leandro <br /> Unified School District. Councilmember Starosciak also suggested EBMUD's grass <br /> removing incentives, as well as Bay Friendly Landscaping methods. <br />
