Continued Discussion Regarding City Letterhead and Business Cards
At the February 24 Rules and Communications Committee meeting, the Committee requested
an electronic letterhead template that included the City web address. Ms. Omelas reported that,
as an interim measure and to avoid wasting the existing supply of letterhead, staff has been
instructed to include their City email address and the City's URL to their correspondence. A
new electronic letterhead template that includes the City's URL has been tested by
administrative support staff and found to be usable until such time as a new supply of City
letterhead has been ordered. Consensus of the Committee was for departments to start using the
new electronic template for the time being, when appropriate. She noted that ideas for a new
letterhead design may come from the recently - formed Branding and Marketing Committee.
The use of the union logo on City business cards was also discussed at the February 24'
Committee meeting. Committee Member Prola looked into the use of the union "bug" on
business cards printed in -house by City staff. Ms. Ornelas provided samples of business cards •
displaying the recommended union "bug ", as well as samples displaying a mobile bar code,
which was suggested by Councilmember Michael Gregory.
