Update on Revised Alameda County Airport Land Use Plan (ALUP) Draft Boundary
Map
Planning Manager Debbie Pollart reported on the progress of the Alameda County Airport
Land Use Commission to develop a new Land Use Plan Map to name the Airport Influence
Area. In 2003, the Committee reviewed a drafted map and had several concerns regarding
how far east the proposed Airport Influence Area went in San Leandro. At the Committee's
request, staff sent recommendations to the Commission regarding appropriate modifications
to the map. The County took those recommendations into consideration and revised the map
to set the boundary considerably further west for areas of the city south of Davis Street. The
draft map still identifies areas north of Davis Street and west of San Leandro Boulevard to be
within the Airport Influence Area.
• The Committee reviewed the newly drafted map and agreed that it accurately reflects those
areas of San Leandro that are most influenced by airport operations. The Committee
recommended the map be reviewed by the full Council before staff replies to the Land Use
Commission.
Committee Recommendation
City Council approval of the drafted Land Use Plan Map.
