Nomination and Appointment of Chair to the Committee (Item taken out of order.) <br /> Following discussion, the Committee appointed Member Santos as Chair. <br /> 2. Discussion Regarding Port of Oakland's Reply to the City's Inquiry Regarding the FAA <br /> Reauthorization Bill, What if Any Funding the Port Will Receive from the Bill and What the <br /> Port's Plans are for Use of the Funding. (Item taken out of order.) <br /> Carole Wedl from the Port of Oakland provided copies of a reply to the City's inquiry <br /> regarding the FAA Reauthorization Bill. The Reauthorization merely approves and continues <br /> the funding airports are already receiving from the FAA. A large portion of the funding will go <br /> to security issues. The Port of Oakland's continued funding for the Airport Development Plan <br /> was part of the reauthorization. Committeemember Nardine asked for clarification regarding <br /> the federal requirement for quarterly maps. Committeemember Santos said that he was <br /> disappointed in the bill's concept to study real estate disclosure requirements as opposed to <br /> mandating the requirements. <br /> 3. Update on the Airport Noise Insulation Program <br /> William Schock, Carla Kell -Smith and Roshon Silva -Mistry gave an overview of the status of <br /> the Airport Noise Insulation Program (ANIP) and possible strategies for selecting the 200 <br /> homes to be insulated. Drafted informational materials were reviewed. The Committee <br /> discussed various aspects of the program. Member Santos questioned the need for a city -wide <br /> town meeting on the program. The other Committee members agreed that the town meetings, <br /> while open to the community at large, should be targeted to the homeowners in the eligible <br /> neighborhoods.
