Continued Discussion Regarding Digital Audio Recording of City Council Committee, Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustment Meetings Information Services Manager Rayan Fowler reported on the estimated number of meetings held annually by City Council committees and the City's boards and commissions, as well as the costs and logistics involved in digitally recording the meetings. If the digital recording of Committee and commission meetings is desired, Ms. Fowler suggested that the Committee include in its recommendation the purchase of recording equipment. She recommended starting with a pilot program, and suggested digitally recording the Rules and Communications Committee, Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustments meetings for a six -month trial period. Ms. Fowler reported that the use of the Council meeting audio streaming is low. Committee Member Reed commented on the poor quality of some of the recordings. Ms. Fowler noted some of the reasons for the variation in recording quality, and she indicated that these problems could be addressed with the use of proper equipment and the proper set up.
