REGULAR MEETING -- Community Library Center, Lecture Hall <br /> 300 Estudillo Avenue <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: Council Member Polvorosa <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Proclamation Declaring May 10, 1995, "Day of the Teacher. " <br /> Mayor Corbett said teachers make a difference in our lives and lead us <br /> into the future. Many of us have had mentors who were teachers. She <br /> said it was a pleasure to honor our teachers and asked Janet Lincoln, <br /> San Leandro Unified School District; Lorraine Hurley, San Lorenzo <br /> Unified School District; and Donna Joseph, private schools, to come <br /> forward. She read the Proclamation declaring May 10, 1995, "Day of the <br /> Teacher. " <br /> Karen Short, Principal of Washington School , said Ms. Lincoln is a <br /> special person. Her children are enthusiastic about learning and she <br /> is always refining her skills. She said Ms. Lincoln is a change agent <br /> and makes big changes at Washington School . She said she is a kind, <br /> generous, and noble person. <br />
