MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> JUNE 7, 1993 • <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in Regular Session in the City <br /> Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Vice Mayor <br /> Polvorosa presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> Vice Mayor Polvorosa noted that the City Council and the community would be <br /> honoring Mayor Dave Karp, following the Redevelopment Agency meeting, and <br /> that the City Council , City Manager and interested members of the community <br /> would have an opportunity to eulogize Mayor Karp at that time. He asked <br /> the audience to join in a moment of silence to honor Dave Karp. <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Kerr, Myers, Perry; <br /> Vice Mayor Polvorosa <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Presentation to Wesley Tatum, San Leandro Post Master, of Commendation <br /> for San Leandro Letter Carriers for Their Efforts on Food Drive Day, <br /> May 15, 1993. <br /> The City Clerk read the commendation praising the Post Office and <br /> letter carriers of San Leandro for conducting the food drive and <br /> contributing the proceeds to the Davis Street Community Center and the <br /> San Leandro Women's Shelter. <br /> Vice Mayor Polvorosa presented the commendation to Mr. Tatum. <br /> B. Recognition of San Leandro High School Spring Sports Teams. <br /> Dennis Smith introduced Pat Doohan, Athletic Director for the San <br /> Leandro Unified School District. Mr. Doohan gave a brief background on <br /> r; each of the San Leandro High School Teams which won championships. <br /> This included the Varsity Baseball Team, coached by Tony Cabral , which <br /> won the Washington Manor League Championship; the Golf Team, winners of <br /> the League match at Los Positas; the Wrestling Team, which won the <br /> League Championship; the Boys Track Team, coached by Brian Kennedy, <br /> League Champions for the third year; and the Girls Basketball Team, <br /> which had a 28-0 season. <br /> Vice Mayor Polvorosa presented the commendations. Mr. Doohan thanked <br /> the City Council for its support and said he was looking forward to <br /> another great year for all the teams. <br />
