MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> APRIL 4, 1994 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in Regular Session in the City <br /> Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Faria <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Kerr, Myers, Nahm, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Faria <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Proclamation Declaring April Fair Housing Month. <br /> Jacqui Diaz, Acting Housing Coordinator, accepted the Proclamation <br /> declaring April Fair Housing Month. <br /> B. Presentation in Celebration of 'Community Development Week. <br /> Ms. Diaz noted that last week was National Community Development Week. <br /> She said the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is <br /> something for the City to be proud of and to celebrate. She said the <br /> Program provides needed housing for the community. She distributed <br /> commemorative T-shirts and CDBG posters to the City Council . <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person. <br /> A. Ted Lastiri , said the City is losing its power over rent control in <br /> mobilehome parks. He said the rental assistance initiative would take <br /> away the City's power to impose rent control . <br /> Mike Oliver, City Manager, said an analysis is being prepared by the <br /> City Attorney, and a resolution will be presented to the City Council <br /> at an upcoming meeting. <br /> In response to questions from Mr. Lastiri , the City Attorney explained <br /> that the matter could not be placed on the Agenda as an urgency matter <br /> because it is not a health or safety issue, and staff is preparing the <br /> appropriate documentation. <br />
